Our code of conduct embraces the concept of restorative practice. Here, the emphasis is on telling the truth, facing our responsiblities and valuing every child's feelings.
This is a move away from the traditional discipline method of sanctions and punishment. The pupils are taught how to describe their feelings from Junior Infants up and circle time and discussion play a very big part of the programme. |
Our numeracy programmes include problem-solving strategies, maths for fun week and our newly implemented Ready set Go maths in infants - a new programme that concentrates on hands-on maths with concrete materials. We continue our move away from solely relying on textbooks and instead we aim to tailor the programme to the child.
