Following the Department of Education guidelines published on Friday 3rd April, we are implementing contingency plans to support children's learning after Easter. The guidelines encourage us to interact regularly with pupils whilst at the same time recognising that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach and that we absolutely do not want to pressurise any family. E.g. Internet access, access to devices, age of children and availibility/expertise of parents are all factors that are being taken into account while setting classwork. To help us with this task, we would be very grateful if you would fill in the survey as this will inform our plans after Easter. To access survey, please click this button. Although we had been engaging with families and are very impressed with pupils' learning (and parents' teaching) over the past 3 weeks, we are now hoping to introduce Seesaw as a schoolwide learning platform after Easter if (as expected) we are not back in school. It is already up and running in 1st and 2nd Class and has been working extremely well with positive feedback from parents and pupils. Each child has their own code to access seesaw and the plaform is very safe and is GDPR compliant, There are several tutorials online to help us 'upskill', it will be a learning curve for ALL concerned(!) but we are confident that it will be worthwhile. I am including some links below about seesaw, a quick google search will also yield several results. (I will be in touch after Easter and if any families cannot access the Internet or Seesaw, we will make alternative arrangements) |
