Seniors put the finishing touches to their Christmas cards this morning. Then everyone had a great time playing maths games - a reminder of all the top class resources provided for us by our Parents' Association. Congrats to Hannah Rowe who won the turkey this week! The voices of 120 children raised the roof in Mayglass Church as our DREAMM Choir recorded their first song : Amhran na N-Aoiri for the Lyric FM Choirs for Christmas Competition. This carol was written for children's voices by the composer Sue Furlong who was a leading light in the national and local choral world. Well done to our singers from Mayglass and our visitors from Piercestown, Rathangan and Curracloe. Thanks to Niall, Sinead and Mrs Lacey for the accompaniment and to all staff for their help. Student Council under the stewardship of Zara, Harry, Hannah and Jack provided sandwiches and hot chocolate for 120 children and tea and coffee for adults. Thank you for all the hard work and to Zara's nanny for the sandwich making skills! |
